This unit works as it should. As other reviewers have stated, it's not a quick-fix (unless you're chilling a red, which usually takes less than 30 minutes). Champagnes and whites take a while, but that's to be expected. You can help it get a jump on the cooling process by putting it in the freezer for a little bit first. But really, when you get home from work or are enjoying the company of friends, just throw a bottle in there, set the dial, and go about your evening until it's ready. I do recommend keeping it in a room away from the action, as it is quite noisy. I keep mine in the formal living room, which is catty-corner to my kitchen; then the noise then becomes more like white noise and is hardly noticeable. One note - the fact this unit can warm wine too is very handy! Refrigerated reds are too cold, but a little time in the unit gets it to the perfect temp.

The temperature of the wine is accurate but it takes a while to get down to 43 degrees.
