Comments:

I bought this lens mainly to shoot my son's lacrosse games. I previously used a 70-300 faster zoom but it wasn't getting close enough from where I had to shoot from. This lens so far has worked great and I have had some really good shots. During an overcast day the shutter speed dropped a bit but for the most part the pics were still good. It is very heavy and a monopod is needed especially at 500mm. I find it a bit difficult to attach but that could also be me getting use to it. All and all I really like the lens and look forward to using it more.

Comments:

Must use a tripod or the photo will be blurred from camera movement. In some cases, especially when there are many subjects to focus on, the lens is slow to autofocus. What's great about it: It's for full frame cameras. It fills a big gap that Nikon has chosen not to fill, because they make lenses mostly for partial frame digital SLRs.
