Comments:

After researching and reading SO many pros/cons about this Tamron lens, decided that the price point was good and that this was the lens I needed for the majority of my shooting needs. It has been. Yes, it does have lens creep...however, if the end user (me/you) simply use the lock switch, it certainly is not an issue. Me/you also need to remember to disengage the lock when actively using the lens. It's not a speed demon for auto focus. That's OK as it makes me take the bit of extra time to compose my shot(s). This isn't the lens to use for sports photography or anything requiring lightening quick focus. For me, this was a great walkabout lens. I cannot drag my lens/bag on hikes, etc. and/or change lenses constantly. I need something that addresses the majority of my shooting needs. This Tamron lens does it without costing a huge sum of dollars. The feel of the lens is fine and the balance is good for mounting on the Sony a77. This will not give you the most crisp shot possible...but remember the cost too. It does great for the price point and I would gladly recommend it to others.
