Comments:

This lens is very easy to use out of the box. I use it with a Canon Rebel T3i and it takes amazing photos with a fantastic zoom. One thing I've noticed with my camera is that the AF sometimes doesn't function correctly, I have to power off my camera and power it back on then it works fine again.

I wanted a lens that would do almost 'all' for me, this does - it goes from 18mm to 270mm and it's a Tamron (excellent lens). I wanted to be a tourist but not haul all my equipment, and I did not /could not go back to a 'point and shoot' camera,,,,thus I bought this lens. It's almost the only one I use right now. I get great photos of all types and I am so happy I own it. Nothing negative to say about this lens and worth every penny.

great superzoom, but has tight zoom ring

4.0

PROS

  • Strong Construction
  • Super zoom
  • Nice Bokeh

CONS

  • Rough portrait zooming
  • Rough zoom ring

BEST USES

  • Landscape/Scenery
  • Indoors/Low Light
  • Concerts

Comments:

Fantastic as a walk around lens. I have seen some reviews that the zoom will slip out, but mine is the complete opposite. I have never have to put the zoom ring in lock position. I wish it's a bit more smoother to zoom. Portrait is the hardest to zoom. in low light, it doesn't focus very quickly.
