Panoramic views of landscapes and group pictures in small space. Still waiting to truely use it. Received the lens and attached it to my camera and took some photos around the house. After the third picture an error message popped up and the camera and the lens couldn't read each other. Called Abe's to swap lens for another and was told to bring it to Tamron for repair as it was covered by the warrenty and they had no replacement available. So it's out for repair and waiting to get it back. The camera would take the pictures okay, but that error message gave me cause for concern. We'll see what happens, but the pictures were just what I was looking for.

I still have to take this lens on a field trip. Preliminary exposures around the house = satisfactory results. Taken during late morning with cloudy-bright light.

Very good fisheye lens

4.0

PROS

  • Strong Construction
  • Firm Mount
  • Clear Optics

CONS

  • Slow autofocus

BEST USES

Comments:

This is well priced fisheye lens that certainly gives the best "bang for the buck" when on a budget. I recently acquired the lens (for a wedding) to assist me in tight, enclosed areas with many people gathered. The image produced is clear and crisp and when shot from a straight angle, produces a very natural looking image. My only quip is that the lens has difficulty with autofocus mechanism. However, there are only a few situations in which this lens is really necessary, so to use manual focus was not terrible.

I love the range (10-24mm). It is not as limiting as other wide angle lenses.
