Comments:

Most importantly, this is an excellent cooktop once it is installed and working. It heats with lightning speed. The touch controls are easy to use. The noise level of the fans below the countertop are minimal. Now that you want one, which we do recommend, here is what you will need to know about the cooktop wiring: the grey and blue wire should be connected to one hot lead, the brown and black wire should be connected to the other hot lead. If you have a third incoming lead, it is the neutral and it is o.k. to cap off (per the manufacturer). The wiring instructions are not included with the cooktop manual and the manufacturer insists there is no such thing as a wiring diagram for this cooktop (odd as most appliances provide it in the manual). Attempting to contact and thus communicate with the manufacturer is frustrating at best and tries one's patience. Since the cooktop has a 1 yr warranty, it would be wise to purchase the 3rd party extended warranty so as to avoid the unpleasantness of contacting the manufacturer directly. We have met with Summit at several trade shows and have had occasion to phone them several times and each incident (whether for sales or support) is the same, short, rude, uninterested, without-a-concern behavior. That being said, Summit does have great appliances that fit a need in small, efficiency kitchens. Buyer beware, it is what it is. Oh yes, and the appliance is Made in China.
