Living room viewing. Clarity is outstanding. However, vertical banding goes across entire tv. Very noticeable when majority of screen is solid color. I watch A LOT of golf and it is horrible on this tv. Watching the ball land on the green and the screen pans around, the dark lines from the banding make it impossible for someone like me to watch. Had an old tv with a 2 inch burn in on the sides from not stretching the pic across entire tv when pic was a standard definition signal. The result was similar to what I see now; a very distinct straight vertical line that creates almost a shadow line. Problem is I have these in 2 to 3 inch sections that go across entire screen on this new tv. Didn't know this is what vertical banding is. Reviews are out there. Look it up and some have posted pics of the screen. You can see the dark to light to dark areas across the screen. Thats what my tv, and apparently so many other's tvs, are doing. A lot of people say it took them up to 3 tvs to get one that worked. Others gave up and got something different. Many say if you don't look for it you might not notice. If you don't see it then the tv is a five star. I'm not using the smart remote or motion stuff. I don't care about that stuff. I'm very disappointed because other than the banding I love this tv. I warned Abes when I ordered about what I had read for reviews and I was hesitant so I will see if they respond as they promised. They can try to send me another replacement if they wish, but who knows if it will be better. I want an LED bad, but I might have to go with a plasma that is more consistent.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
