It was a painless replacemen t fror a 55 inch LED damaged by a power surge. Was happy with the predecessor, but this one is... Amazing. The image is crisp, and vs other plasma screens, is not overwhelmed by room lighting.

I have netflix streaming about 5 hours day when I get home from work. The HDMI from my xbox360 looks super sharp even on the 64" screen. I use comcast tv service and had no problem setting it up or using it. All setup was very simple. I do with the remote that came with the TV would work for the downloadable apps. Such as Pandora, Facebook and Netflix.

Excellent picture, installed in room with lots of windows & display is sufficiently bright & clear even on standard settings. Still playing with various menus & access apps, but so far no issues. Slim tilting wall mount was a PAIN & difficult to engage the bottom rail & set screw. When mounted you cannot reach behind TV to make connections unless your arm is less than 0.5". Ended up adding offset studs to the wall to provide extra 1.5" to enable clean install & access, yet still preserves a "slim" install. TV is heavy & bulky so once installed its there unless you have 2-3 people to help you.

Great t.v. but Abes talked me into paying a hundred dollars for "white glove" delivery that was no different than regular delivery and talked me into extra two year warranty with an upgrade on their free hundred and fifty dollar mount. The mount they sent retails for twenty dollars and is completely useless for any t.v. Shame on Abes.

After extensive research, it came down to this TV or the Panasonic 65in VT-30. The VT-30 may have the critics reviews going for it, but I took a long hard look at both tv's side-by-side at my local electronics shop. The Samsung D8000 was really no different to my eyes in almost every respect. In fact, I thought it rendered some movie scenes even better. I really could not see why the Panasonic was still commanding a price premium. The Samsung is hands down a much better value - equally strong (if not slightly better) picture quality, superior design elements and aesthetic, and a significantly lower price. I've had the Samsung for about a month now. Definitely no regrets. Outstanding performance and a real joy to watch. The only minor quibble I have is that the remote with the D8000 is overly complex and the non-backlit buttons are tiny and very hard to see in the dark. I strongly recommend this tv to anyone considering something in this size plasma.
