Iv never made a purchase this big online before and was alittle nervous...But Abes of Main was AWESOME, very friendly and helpfull with everything and it showed up exactly when expected. no problems what so ever..We love the TV the 2D picture is amazing the wifi worked flawlessly.apps are cool but slow, we dont use them anyway. I do live at high altitude so the plasma dose buzz... but its still not as loud as my old mitzu DLP. my only dissapointment is the 3D..while it is good, i do see some ghosting and its kind of dark, if my family liked watching 3D more i may have gone with the panasonic..but the glasses bug the kids so it dosent matter for us..overall a great TV

Wasn't sure on the plasma or LED in the 8000 series. I was concerned about glare at first but after going to [@] to see them side by side, I decided on the slightly larger plasma (59" vs 55") for the same price. The LED has a glass face compared to my LCD's and actually appears to have more glare than the plasma. The plasma has a slight gray screen compared to the LED and this seems to reduce the amount of glare coming off the set. Simple to set-up although the remote seems imtimidating at first glance. MUST pair the remote to TV FIRST! Just like setting up a bluetooth device. Streams pics from phone or computer which is pretty cool using a DLNA App with my Droid X. Picture is awesome as expected from Samsung. Own 2 other Samsung's for several years now and have no problems whatsoever. Very happy with my decision. Abe's of Maine pricing was unbeatable compared to [@] as we saved several hundred on the purchase. I had always purchased my TV's at a local [@] because I was concerned about shipping somthing this large, fragile, and expensive. Abe's assured me everything would be fine and I decided to use a dedicated shipping service for $100. Even with that it was still $500 cheaper that [@]! It came with cornerboards on all sides and enough styrofoam to drop it from a plane! No more anxiety over buying somthing like this online.

while i have yet to hard wire cable to the unit the wireless uses are plentiful with numerous apps to choose from. picture quality is great with wireless and i can only imagine what the unit will display with cable hook-up.remote backlight remains on only seconds so a dark room causes one to fumble around looking for the manual backlight button.

This TV is awesome...not only does it have one of the best pictures I have seen while watching Blu-Rays...which would be good enough...but then it has a great user interface with the Samsung apps and Yahoo HOTAPP widgets which is just an added bonus. The only thing that would have been better is if I could have fit the 64" version of this TV on my wall.

WAAAAAY better than the comparable Panasonic Viera. I bought the Viera that is in the comparable class (can't remember the product number, but it's their premium line). The blacks were dull and the picture was foggy/smokey. I took the trouble to return it to get the Samsung. The picture and sound are phenomenal. Far better than the Viera. And the price was on par (maybe less).

This TV is amazing, the color is so vivid, and it's pretty easy to use. One thing I wish Samsung will improve it's other program such as YouTube to use its qwerty keyboard and speed up the internet conection a bit. On my old Sony XBR TV, I can't read the movie's text at the end while it's scrolling, but I can read it with ease with this TV. :)

This has THE BEST picture I have seen! I have many friends and family members that have recently purchased TVs and there is no doubt that my picture quality is the best. The only issue that i have is that there is no audio analog out. It has the digital optical out but this does not help you if you have an existing analog sound system like my Bose system. I called Bose and they said they do not have any way to convert the analog to digital. Looks like my 2 year old surround system is for sale. But it is actually worth it for this TV! It is a great TV and Abe's had the very best price. Believe me, I checked around.

I took a lot of tiome comparing plasmas and the two finalists were this Samsung and the Panny TOTL. The Samsung 59" was several hundred less than the 55" Panny and both have incredible performance. I've used the Samsung for a couple of weeks and am lovin' it.

This TV replaced an older TV in my media room. The picture is awesome, and I love the design. Overall I am very happy with the purchase. The only gripe I have is with the remote. It is not very responsive, and the lack of back lite keys on the QWERTY pad make it almost useless in a dark room. I programmed my universal remote to work with the TV so it is really a moot point, but for someone who does not already have a universal, it may be an additional purchase you should consider if you pick up the is TV.

I normally do not like putting 5 stars on a product because there's always something that could be improved upon for the next revision. However, my experience with this television has so far been so good I am having difficulty finding anything to nitpick on it.[...] The picture quality is great. I have always wanted to go with a plasma television since I consider the picture quality to be far above the other options. This product does not disappoint. I have at&t UVERSE which is an IPTV offering. The HD picture they offer is probably the best I have experienced when compared to cable and Directv (I have had all of those offerings). It is comparable to OTA HD signal (which I have used as well). The television has great imaged reproduction. I am not a huge fan of 3D, but I will give that a try sometime in the future. But for now, regular Blu-ray movies look phenomenal and sporting events are great. And while the picture is great, it's the extras that really make this a great television. It has plenty of connection inputs to handle all my devices ranging from my at&t UVERSE box, my XBOX360, Wii, Blu-ray player, etc. My Samsung Blu-ray player has the BD Wise feature so when I switch to it on the inputs it will power up the player for me. The television handles WiFi pretty well. I haven't connected the physical Ethernet connection yet since I just do not have enough connections behind the television at this point which makes the WiFi a welcome addition. The TV features Samsung's SmartHub which allows you to install apps. The interface is decent enough for a TV. The web browser is surprisingly well done (it even handles Flash which surprised me--the iPhone still cannot do it). The only app it could use is HBO GO. Another great option is the ability of the television to see all of your computer media shares. When my Windows 7 PC is online you can view your shared media libraries on the television. You can play movies, view pictures and listen to music without having to use a Windows Media Center extender. Note you have to enable sharing on your Windows 7 machine in Windows Media Player. I played one movie over the network and it seemed to have some trouble with the buffering, however I tried it the next day on another film and it played just fine. Both movies were HD quality movies at around 4 GB in size. The remote control is decent enough. I wish the backlight would stay on a bit longer because my living room is fairly dark (on purpose). It is sometimes awkward determining if the bottom QWERTY side of the remote will register or not for the app you are using. For instance, when I do a search in the YouTube app it will not always let me use the keyboard to type my query. The best part is that you can use your smart phone as a remote control on this. I use my Android phone or my Android tablet to control the television over the network which is great because I can turn the volume down from the bedroom if the kids are blasting it too loud.So far I am very…
