After a particularly noisy commuter flight I swore to buy noise reducing headphones. After reseaching the Sonys appeared to be tghe best bang for the buck. They worked very well on my last flight. I was able to listne to music at a normal volume rather than trying to drownout the airplane engines. Peridically I turned the headset off to compare the nosie without the actvie feature on. The noise redcution made a huge difference. I tried a friend's Bose and felt they were slightly better. I am pleased with my Sony's for the price.

While these headphones may not satisfy the die-hard audiophile, they are great for me. They sound good, fit well, and the noise-cancelling works great.

Great design, but noise cancelling insufficient. Works much better if I push it against my ears, but that isn't a long term solution. Can imagine it working great if you have smaller ears.

The tight fitting makes them very uncomfortable for long term listening. I hope they will ease with more use. I use them mainly for international travel.
