Enjoy brilliant home theatre sound from speakers no larger than a golf ball! This state of the art 5.1 system packs 450W and is also S-AIR ready for a completely wireless experience.
Best value for the price, its a trade off for this price point video vs. power. Unit has great video feature but lacks bass power.

Got this thing for about a month now, and I love it, but I wouldn't recommend it for audiophiles. The subwoofer produces ALL of the bass and midrange. The tiny sats handles all of the highs. It still sounds very good, as I run my iPod through the system. Plenty of bass supplied by the sub, and the sats handle the detail perfectly. I'm a fan of guitar virtuosos, and hearing acoustic guitar notes from the sats is delightful. Still, this system is best for movies. I watched The Dark Knight BluRay version and it sounded spectacular. Totally beat watching it in a theater. If you love movies, and don't have a large living room (mine is 11 x 14), this system will do you well.

It comes with everything you need to enjoy 5.1 sound in just a few minutes in a good looking and compact design. Includes a dock for an iPod and a calibrator to get the best sound out of the system. And you may add accessories to go wireless or to access the system from another room. One of the best and most flexible A/V product on the market today.

Entry level surround sound system with a small footprint. It is not for audiophiles. Cannot read the display panel on the subwoofer while sitting in the room watching a movie.

This is a Great solution for the money spent. I agree with other reviews that this system lacks in the area of Midrange. But for the most part, I no longer listen to music at ear drum piercing volume, and I'm not a classical music lover. I just love the occassional Subwoofer Bass Roar during a movie, or the directional sound blast coming from a jet fighter's plane, etc. Accompanied by Sony's WAHT-SA10 Wireless rear stereo amplifier (Purchased seperately) I was able to pass on cleverly disguising speaker wire to reach the back of my living room. Excellent sound reproduction and added a wopping 143 watts x 2 to rear speakers in addition to the already supplied 450 watts from the IS100! The WAHT-SA10 also includes a earphone jack which makes it convinient for plugging in, since it sits in the back of your living room, where you would sit. My only complaint would be with the Bravia Synching feature, as I have a non-Sony TV and 5 remotes to cover my PS3, DVD player, TV, Cable box, and now Sony Surround Sound system. Maybe there is a way for me to synch these remotes with this new system, but I haven't come across it yet. Perhaps for XMas, I can talk my wife into buying me one of those fancy learning remotes....
