Comments:

If you are looking to soften the harsh shadows from your primary flash, and don't have the need and $$$ for a sophisticated system, this is your option. Just mount the flash on a second tripod and it fires away with your primary. If you are however looking for a primary flash, there are smarter options out there that coordinate with your camera.

Comments:

WhenI mounted the flash on the hot shoe, my camera started making popping noises and the flash started firing on it"s own. I shutdown the camera and removed the flash. I had to restart the camera three times before it returned to a working mode.
