Very good lens with great bokeh. This will be on my T2i majority of the time.

This lens is sharp, has nice color rendition and beautiful bokeh! I was worried about the lens after reading about AF issues, but the AF is spot on with the copy I received. Once a while I might misfocus, but maybe 1 out of 100 shots. Great prime!

This lens is great. I use it on my 7D and it is sharp at f1.4 and sharper stopped down a little. It is perfect as an indoor lens to take pictures of my children.

I have heard about the focus issues for this and many of the Sigma lens' but decided to give it a try anyway. Happy to say I got a great copy and couldn't be happier. Fast almost silent focus and super sharp around F/2.2 and up. Build is excellent and seems to be very durable but that's not something I want to test out. The lens cap is a bit tricky to put on compared to the other brands of lens' I own. [...]

This prime lens is currently my favorite lens. It has made me a huge Sigma fan, and I will likely be purchasing the 85/1.4 next. The bokeh is buttery and on my Canon 60D, I do not have any focus issues. Very sharp at 1.4 and even sharper stopped down. I would recommend this lens to anyone looking at a new prime or who shoots portraits often.

I took a sunset photo and the colors were phenomenal. I blew it up to a 20x30 and it is beautiful. I made four 8x10 for friends. The lens made it all happen. Fully compatible with Canon 7D.

Absolutely love this lens! I've had it for a few months now, and it has rarely left my camera body. I shot a wedding with it, and the photos turned out superb! One word of caution, as with all ultra fast lenses, use discretion. Some may say that this lens misses focus, or is blurry/soft. It's really not. At F/1.4, if you are closer than say 10 feet to your subject, the area in focus is a very small sliver. If you aren't perfectly on, then it's going to look out of focus. Reserve your ultra wide shooting for more distant subjects, or other specific circumstances which call for it. Only downside that I saw with this lens, is an ever so slight softness around the edges. However, 99% of the time, you will use this lens with a shorter dof, so most of the photo will be out of focus anyways. I can't say that I've even seen this softness in real world use in any of my photos. Comparing this Sigma to the Canon 35 2.0, I would definitely choose the Sigma (if you're on a cropped frame that is). It's leaps and bounds better quality, has a faster focus, and of course has the 1.4 as opposed to the 2.0 of the Canon. It's larger and heavier, but goes well on a 50D body, and probably on the smaller Rebel line as well. This has quickly become my favorite lens in my bag!

This lens is serious business! If you are flip flopping like I was between this and the canon 28mm GET THIS LENS! the only thing that has bugged me about this lens is the design of the lens cap... it's a little tricky to put on and if you don't do it just right, the cap falls off really easily.

Great lens for low light, perfectly matches a 7D which will allow you to push the ISO as well. I hear that this lens often needs manual focus adjustment, but I didn't have this issue. Tested it to be spot on. Love the creamy bokeh. Stopped down it is extremely sharp.

It's tough to get a fast and wide lens for an APS-C sensor camera. I tested a few other comparable lenses in this price range and this seemed to be the best pick. At 30mm, it's not super wide but wide enough for me considering it's 1.4. I use it for video on my T2i and the only downside to this lens is that the focus ring is a little bit stiff (when manual focusing). Overall a great lens.

Great prime! This has been on my 7D at least 90% of the time since I've purchased it. Abes has new the version with Sigma's new finish which has been working great, although I did have to set MA to -3.
