This is a great, well-built piece of exercise equipment. I love the small footprint and versatility of the variable stride feature. The electronics offer lots of cool features.

I use the 460 for general exercise. At least I got injured. Not from the machine. I am waiting to heal before I can get back on track with my exercise. When I was using the 460, it provided a great challenging exercise without stressing my joints and body. My husband & I have joint issues, but with this machine we are bale to really exercise without the joint stress.

Never thought I would enjoy this type of machine. Contrary to my beliefs, the SCHWINN 460 Variable Stride Elliptical is a pleasure to work with. Both my wife and I enjoy the workout. We combine with treadmill and weights. Sean McKinney

I bought this to replace a treadmill after realizing that high impact exercise was not the best for me. [...]Size:It weighs a TON and is difficult to move around or store. It much taller than I thought it was going to be - around 7 feet overall with the arms. If you have very low ceilings, this is not the unit for you.Assembly: My husband hurt himself putting it together, but we eventually got it setup. It is heavy and there are a lot of washers and screws. When they say it takes 2 people, they mean two people or one really strong person =P I read the directions and handed him the correct screw/washer pairings, and he bolted it together. There was only one part where he physically needed my help - attaching the console. It took us about an hour and a large finger bandage. We also used a real set of tools instead of the tools that came with it.Operation: It runs well and is super quiet, great for watching TV. The variable stride was a big seller for me on this, and it does not disappoint. Very easy to use and change the stride length, and it can go from walk to step in milliseconds. You can also walk or run backwards. It has a number of built-in workouts, and you can customize a workout. It can store a couple of users and stats for each i.e. total workout time, distance, etc. I love the wireless chest strap heart rate monitor. I gave it 4 stars only because:- It does not fold up- It is not easy to move (very heavy)- It wobbles a little bit at high RPMs (not a great deal, but it is noticeable). I do have it on carpet, and it might be better on solid flooring. I would recommend an exercise machine mat to protect carpet and stabilize the unit.- I would have liked it to have a larger console tray so that I could put a book or laptop up while I was using it. It is recessed a bit, but I might be able to rig something up if I tried. My Kindle fits fine, but anything much larger would not. This is not a big deal for me because I like to watch TV while I exercise.- The drink holder is only designed for bottles, not cups or glasses. It is tilted and very deep, so cups would not easily rest in the holder.- The power cord is not short, but it's not long enough for my needs. I have to use an extension cord. It's a 2-prong plug.Don't get me wrong, this is a very high quality machine. It was a good purchase, and I expect it will last for a long time. There are just a few annoyances mentioned above.
