So I had been using a colleagues U87 for some singer sessions, voiceovers and the like. I really loved the sound but as I got busier, I needed to have something in studio. Another producer friend of mine advised me to go with the Rode as he pointed out, with a lot of the production tools available nowadays, you can get a great sound without taking out a second mortgage. This mic did not disappoint! I noticed it has a slight more low response than the U87 I'd been using but was very clean and quiet. I love it! It's a very good mic to have on hand and will work for a lot of different projects. Obviously, your front end will affect your results but it won't be the mics fault. This thing is built very solid and the front switches are very hand if your doing any self-recording. No shock-mount included, but they are $30-40 extra so no big deal. Great price from Abe's and excellent service in helping make sure I had it in time for my next project... Thanks!
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
