This lens is an inexpensive option for low light photography. Manual aperture and focus are the downsides.

Comments:
Great optics. But really, really hard to focus with Canon Rebel XS. Have to use live view and magnification, no other way. Through view finder, I guess you could get lucky, but I never did. My pictures are mostly of a really fast moving 1 year old, so this lens was way too hard to focus fast enough to get good pictures. If I was taking pictures of something still, could have been different story. When I could get it in focus and my baby held still long enough, this lens was spectacular.
