I recently got this camera and took it on vacation. I took over 1000 photos and most of them are great (some were user error).

It's remarkable what can be packed into this ergonomic, attractive compact. The camera sits well in one hand with toggles, buttons and switches well placed for intuitive operation. I don't The camera's auto settings work surprisingly well and has a lot of bang for the buck. It's claimed to have a quicker than average focus time... maybe... I haven't noticed a real difference. It does seem to 'warm up' from 'off' fairly slowly. I wish with all these compacts there were two manual focus settings... one for macro and one to infinity. It's frustrating to find a focal point in these extremes and I wind up missing shots as a result. I can live with the smaller display as it helps keep the battery alive a little longer. Which comes to the cameras biggest drawback... the in-camera charging system is a complete let down. It takes 4-5 times longer than a wall charger and doesn't charge when the camera is on to transfer files when usb'd in. All the negatives aside... I love the shots this little companion takes and have learned to trust that it most-of-the-time knows what it's doing and is easy and quick to adjust when it doesn't. Thanks Panasonic for a nice product.

I did find some difficulty in operating the camera, but with use, it is getting easier. Fast shutter speed, panaorama function and sharp, beautiful photos. Negatives are, lens cover stuck, 20X zoom always yielded blurry photos and a spot appeared on my viewer and pictures.

We have been using for pictures of our 3 kids 6,4 and 1. I was looking for an easy to use camera that will take excellent pictures. I was happy to hear my wife say the other day "I love this camera." Used the zoom to get some good candid photos of the kids at the beach the other day. Worked great with stabilizer.

I had a 3 year old version and wanted to have a GPS option. As Panasonic own Leica they have really great quality lenses and I can see no better on the market. It doesn't have the capabilities of an SLR, but it is pocket size and packs a huge punch for an enthusiast traveler like me.

We've put this camera through it's paces, that's for sure. Slow motion, time-lapse, low light, fast shutter, slow shutter, indoor, outdoor, simulated tilt-shift mode, video, and more... Overall, it performs as expected. The huge standout weakness is the battery life. You can't really survive on it's one included battery. And, since the battery is charged in the camera itself, you really need an external battery charger so the camera is not tied up with the task of battery charging. Image quality is decent for a point-and-shoot, although I find colors somewhat muted. For those who want to be a able to make the many camera adjustments, it certainly provides the ability... good for those wanting to learn more about similar functions that one would find on a more robust DSLR.

Great camera at a great price. I have no cons other than it doesn't have a viewfinder, but most cameras don't nowadays. The buySAFE program Abe's gives you is awesome. They sent me a check when the price went down and all I had to do was send in a scan of my receipt and the new price, so easy!

I have had the camera for 10 days and it's first test - friends' wedding indoors in poor light - past with flying colors. I have since used it to take landscape, bird and flower photos and am very happy that I now have a camera that I can take anywhere.
