I compared to competitive cameras (eg. Nikon aw110), and it's much better-image quality. I don't like that at video mode, it's sometimes too noisy (my SGS2 phone sometimes better).

I take this camera everywhere I go. I enjoy mountain biking and riding my ATV. It is great having a camera that is rugged enough to handle the elements. The GPS feature is nice. It can eat away at the battery, however, if you allow it to run while the camera is switched off. The compact size allows it to be taken anywhere in your pocket. Do not expect SLR quality photos. This camera will take awesome photos in many different conditions. The zoom is not excellent. Given it is a rugged camera, it was designed to have as few moving parts as possible.

This is the second of the "life-proof" cameras we have bought from Panasonic for our family. We've tried Olympus and Pentax equivalents but found that you had to trade of image quality and speed to get something that you could use in the pool. With the Panasonic we finally found a camera that is fast, has good image quality and is life-proof. In many ways it is the perfect compact camera for summer activities and travelling. We have two - the TS3 and the TS4. The TS4 is a small modification of the TS3 - slightly faster etc. We bought the second one for one of the kids as they are going overseas for a month and wanted something to record the trip. Most of the time we leave the camera on auto mode. We use "burst" mode a lot (people jumping into the pool, canoeing pictures, swimming underwater shots). We will often turn of the flash when as the evening approaches as the photos are better without the glare of the flash. About the only niggles with the camera is that it sometimes takes a while for the camera to lock in the GPS location. Not a terrible thing, but sometimes annoying. To overcome false readings we mostly leave the GPS mode on "airplane" so that if it has no GPS recording, it won't record anything. I can recommend this camera to anyone who is interested in a sturdy, point and shoot camera that happens to be life-proof.
