My old flyback was hard wired and connected to the battery separator. This unit has a plug and is designed to connect directly to the batteries. Abe's website did not show the wiring, so I had to install an outlet in the engine hold and, so far, have by passed the separator. Hmm...There are no instructions if you have one starting battery (Bank 1) and two aux. batteries in parallel (Bank 2). This should be a no-brainer, but other parts of the instructions indicate that the parallel batteries should be charged separately. Little confusing. The metering should be more comprehensive. I liked the old VU meters rather than just an idiot light.
