This camera is a great fit into many of my favorite activities. The weather resistant and durable construction, along with its size and wealth of capabilities all allow me to get some great shots that I couldn't otherwise get. I think its total functionality is outstanding and I am getting some great shots. Most of the settings are pretty intuitive, but being an owner of a Pentax PZ-1p gave me a great head start in learning the K-7, since many of the functions are similar. My old lenses, even the power zoom ones, work great with this camera. I am one happy camper with this camera. The one product shortcomong that I could point out is that it does not have continuous autofocus in video mode, but that's a nit in comparison to all its other attributes. I don't do much video anyway.

The build quality is superior to canon and nikon competition. I am still learning about the features and possibilities. The automatic settings are very effective. The program mode is also well thought out. I don't like the photo editing software. Not very intuitive and cumbersome. I downloaded picasa and have been very happy with this camera.

Over the course of my first month of use, have taken close to 2000 pictures. Excellent camera, love the fact that it's very portable compared to competitors and Pentax has great prime lens options. Build quality is superb. My only reservation is the noise levels in high iso/low light use. I am currently looking at adding a large aperture lens to help mitigate the high iso noise. Highly recommend this to anyone looking for a portable (relatively), well built camera with excellent picture quality. My rating is 4.5 with the half point held back for the High ISO Noise, partially mitigated by on board noise reduction.

I am extremely pleased with this purchase. I looked and compared DSLR cameras for ~ 1 yr and finally purchased the K-7. I am a Sony fan, but I purchased the K-7 for the video capability, less expense for better options, and multiple positive reviews. The battery is maintaining charge well, the (1000 plus) photos I have taken in a couple of weeks are more than satisfactory, and the ease of use of the camera is exceptional. I am now a Pentax fan.

A pleasure to hold, use, and enjoy the results. While some professional reviews have questioned its low-light performance, it has not been an issue in the real world. I am very pleased.

I researched DSLRS for months before setting on the K-7. I went with the K-7 because of the build quality, value, and uniqueness, and I went with Abes of Maine because they had the best deal on the package with the two weathersealed lenses. I have already been caught in two torrential storms with this camera, and it survived like a champ. I am new to DSLRs, but I have found the pentax to be mostly intuitive. I have learned a lot by reading everything I can about this camera from the manual to online forums, and every now and then I get a key tip that improves the way I shoot. There are so many different modes and customizations that you can make, if you understand them all, I can't imagine any shooting situation you couldn't optimize the camera for. The images this camera can create with the kit lenses can be stunning. After handling the K-7 for a month, then handling other DSLRS, most others feel like plastic toys due to the K-7's solid construction and comfortable. If you're aiming for a great deal around this price range, you won't find more for your money than the K-7.

I am an amateur photographer, but do enjoy taking pictures. The K7 is the easiest SLR I have ever used and thoroughly enjoy the quality of the images I have gotten. I cannot think of anything I do not like thus far.

I'm still finding my way through all of its features, but so far, I'm extremely impressed. Image quality is superb. I've used Pentax film and digital cameras for 30+ years and I'll never change. This camera is extremely sturdy, and it feels that way in your hands. That is something I don't find when I handle other brands. They seem to feel light and flimsy, but not this one.
