Love how one gets natural lighting instead of the harsh, cold lighting from th pop up flash. I have yet to learn all the features as I just received it. Love it so far, but it is a bit heavy.

The power output is comparable to that of an SB-600... coming from a sb-800 with additional battery pack, the recycle time, though decently fast, does not have the speed of the sb-800. The menu system is sooo much easier to use and is much more convenient, therefore, worth it for me.

So my one beef with this flash is that it doesn't like to work as a slave on the left side of the camera, this must be due to the sensor/reciever location on the flash. Other than that its worked great for me. A little more power might be nice, but that flash (SB-900) is available if you want to pony up the dough. I think I wan't to buy another one of these.

I upgraded from the smaller flash I had. This is a solid product, well built and looks like it will serve me well. I just wish it was little smaller as it is a pretty heavy package combined with D300S camera...

I got this flash as a replacement for my SB 600 and I couldn't be happier with it. It works well, the controls aren't convoluted like the SB 600/800. If I had to change one thing about the flash, I wish it was about $100 cheaper, since besides the better controls, its specifications are very similar to the sb600.
