This camera was bought as a gift for a relative. I own the same camera and love it. I use it for family photos and sporting events. It has been a great camera and still is one of the better prosumer cameras out there.

Photographs are my main souvenir when my wife and I travel. I ordered this just before my wife and I went on a trip to celebrate our 10th anniversary. Over the course of the trip I took approximately 4,000 photos and several short videos. The camera performed exceedingly well. I am VERY happy with my purchase.

Comments:
I use the camera daily. I am a plein air landscape painter and take it out on location to record material I am painting. It is sturdy, easy to use. Easy to view large LCD even in bright outdoor conditions. One negative I've found - It does not have the rapid fire shutter that the D70 had. Auto focus is sensitive and so far reliable. Downloading with Nikon software does not work on a new Mac. A glitch Nikon & Mac need to work out.

This camera offers a potential possibilities for people interested in improving their photography skills. By default, the pictures turn out amazing and with a little more knowledge about the camera functions they will be even be the best to admire.

I upgraded from Nikon D5000 to D90 because of extra features, such as built-in motor for older lenses, higher resolution LCD screen and flash commander. I am not willing to pay for the D7000 at $560 premium over the D90.

When I researched cameras, I initially thought I would get the Nikon d5000. However, I decided to save the couple extra $$ and got the d90 and I am SO GLAD I did. It is definitely worth the extra money and you won't feel like you need to upgrade in a couple years. There is so much to this camera it is overwhelming, yet easy enough for the person who just wants to take nice pictures. But for the photo enthusiast, you will always be discovering amazing things this camera does. A competitor of the D90 is the Canon Rebel T2i. I researched it and thought about buying it, but when I did an in depth comparison, I found the Rebel is no match for the Nikon d90. Don't let the megapixels fool you..they may seem attractive at first, but that's as good as the camera gets. Everything else lacks in comparison. I love my d90 and would stand behind it and recommend it to anyone. You just can't take a bad picture.
