Comments:

I purchased this camera to use on the beach and while snorkeling/diving in Florida. I found it very easy to use. I used it to take a HD video of my father-in-law bringing in 40 # Mahi Mahi and the quality was great. The filter attachment along with a PL filter I purchased separately worked great for sunset pictures. My 12yo son took some great underwater pictures and taught me how to use many of the features. I would recommend this camera to anyone looking for a simple point and shoot. Purchase extra batteries as the OEM battery lasted around a 1/2 day.

Being a retired professional photographer, I still travel around the world with my pro Nikon camera's but also like to carry a point & shoot. This camera has past all the tests. I've used it underwater, snowmobiling, low light conditions and normal type shooting and video. I love the versatility this small camera has to offer. I also have shown the images on my Pioneer 50" plasma screen via Apple TV with music & found the quality (noise) close to my pics shot with my Nikons. It very easy to use and understand. I had read some blogs about the battery life but didn't find that to be true. I do have it programmed to shut off after 30 seconds, but in saying that, I used the camera a full day (video & flash pics) and found battery life to be quite sufficient. I carry an extra battery and SD card just in case as I do all my camera's. The sound quality is very good & the light meter is incredible for a point & shoot (a real bonus). The color reproduction is of great quality. I have to give this camera an A+. I would highly recommend this camera to anyone interested in purchasing a point & shoot type camera. It's a fun all round durable reasonably priced camera.

Comments:

I normally use a Nikon D300, but I find that I often don't have it when I need it due to its size. I purchased this to have with me especially when I am travelling. I like that it is waterproof, though I have not had a chance to test out that feature yet. I have used the camera to take photos at a concert and several landscape photos. I am extremely pleased with the quality of the shots. The colors are nicely saturated. The short lag time is a definite plus as that was a drawback to most of the smaller cameras I had looked at.

Just got back from a family trip to Costa Rica and this camera worked great from the ocean to the jungle and everything in between. Used it for a week in and out of salt and freshwater with no issues. The pictures turned out great above and below the waterline. The zoom did need a second to catch up every now and then, but not a big deal. We were careful to follow the instruction on soaking the camera after use and allowing it to fully dry before opening it to access the memory card or battery. There were no issues with it fogging up or leaking. Very happy with this camera.

Comments:

I got this camera for my mom. She's in her seventy's now and can get frustrated with touch screen technology. But the cameras big easy to find buttons and big LCD screen make it very easy for her to use. The instructions are written well and easy to follow. I would recommend the orange one as it makes it easy to find in that big old purse of hers. Shes going to Sweden later this year and is studying up on how to use the GPS and world map feature to id the photo's she takes. I'm thinking of trading in my Sony TX10 that has the same features as the AW100. This is a great camera for the money. I highly recommend this camera and give it a 10 out of 10
