Good lens, can't beat it for the price. Consistantly performs good, feels a little light as it's a plastic casing but alot of lens are going that way. Great ease of use. Only slowish to focus on auto focus but that pretty musch all camera's. A+ product

CONS

  • Weak Casing

Comments:

Product is only OK. Seems cheaply made and flimsy for a Nikon. I have a D90 and the only use I have for this lens is for longer range shots like in a zoo, park or landscape. Results seem to be OK, not great, but OK. I then quickly swich back to a standard VR lens. Price point is good, and for a mere [$] more a much better lens is available!!

CONS

Comments:

This is a real handy zoom range. It feels great and balances well on my Nikon D90. Autofocus is quick, and VR makes it more usable in low light situations. I am attaching a couple of images that were both cropped to a considerable degree and both handheld at 200mm and 200iso. The shutter was 1/30 for the Blue Jay and 1/80 for the Robin. The Robin was about 25 ft. from the camera. I think they are decent examples of the versatility that VR gives you. I know some will be critical of the plastic mount etc., but all I can say is take care of your lens and you should get some great images for a low price.

Comments:

This is a more than adequate lens for the price. It focuses quickly and takes clear photos for my application. I want some good pictures of the action on the soccer field. It does that well. It does not function well at a macro level. It isn't designed to but I had hoped for a little shorter focal length up close. Still, more than adequate lens for the price.
