CONS

BEST USES

  • Wildlife Photos

Comments:

I am a newbie but just for those out there like me, this lens is not for the causal use at parties and small groups. The zoom is nice, but for getting shots of groups you better be backed up. I was looking for an "all around lens" - this really is not it. I am going back and buying another lens 18mm-105mm that better serves my purpose. I will keep this one for shooting my kids at plays and sporting events.

Comments:

I use it to take indoor and outdoor pictures of people and equipment. It is easy to swap out. It is not much bigger than the 18-55mm I usually have on the camera. The pictures are consistently top notch.

I've taken photos in several hockey rinks of my grandson's play. I am very pleased with the photos taken with this lense. They are sharp and clear. The lighting has not been a problem even though I shoot at a higher speed. I did have to get used to the fact that by using a zoom, you cannot capture a lot of the content which surrounds the subject.

A great lens at an affordable price. Proven Nikon quality that does not disappoint. A verstaile "walking around" lens that I would keep on my camera under most circumstances.

Bought this as a light weight travel/backup lens to augment my better glass. This will be left on my backup body when I need rapid access to a longer reach.
