Comments:

My Nikon D500 kit came with an 18-55mm lens and a 55-200mm lens. This 18-105 lens is becoming my lens of choice- higher zoom than the 18-55 without the camera shake factor of the 55-200. (Don't get me wrong, the other lenses have their uses too.) I've had great results with this lens in the two weeks since I bought it. I would recommend this lens as a welcome addition to any Nikon camera or kit.

Comments:

I bought this lens to replace my 55-200 and the 18-55 that came with my D40. I almost never use the 55-200, and it is a pain to switch it out when I would need it. This lens does quite well for what I need and I never have to change out. Plus it is a VR.

Works great inside, no flash, dark places. Goes whers others will not go and gets excellent results. The eye cannot not see into dark domes, this lens can take a full color picture of what I cannot see.

I quickly replaced the kit lens with the Nikon 18-105mm VR. The best compromise between walk around shooting, vacation shots and impromptu group photos.

Decent over all short telephoto. Works well as one lens for walking around events such as Re-enactments. It focuses to slow to capture birds of prey in flight. Decent lens for the price.
