This thing can boil water super fast. I use a water distillery system to take out all the sediment and toxins that city water contains, and the last think I want to do is to introduce more of the same using a plastic device. This unit is all glass, so nothing to worry about there. Also, it's super quiet, jet boil fast, and super easy to clean. I'm very happy with it. I do have limited counter space and it could be a tiny bit smaller, but it's really pretty sweet.

I have been using electric Kettles since the late 60's. This kettle is faster than previous models i have owned. Virtually maintenance free design and as it is glass it is obvious at a glance when the water is boiling which is great as It is much quieter than most. The second time i used it i did not snap the lid to the fully closed position. As stated in the instructions it does not automatically shut off if not closed properly. As it does boil so quickly even if you are carless and forgetful it is not really a problem as you can see through the glass that it is boiling, even if your kitchen is too noisy to hear the usual sound of bubbling water. If you have to leave for an emergency and forget to turn it off it seems the worst thing that could happen is it will eventually boil dry and shut off automatically. I tested the boil dry shut off and give it ten out of ten for speed of shutting off. This is one of the most efficient ways of heating water in the kitchen. Saves time when preparing items that need a large pot of boiling water (e.g. Pasta, vegetables) by adding a kettle full of hot water that boiled in a few minutes to the water that is still heating up on the range. What more can you want. Great Price from Abe's of Maine, works well, save on utility bills and looks good.
