After doing quite a bit of research, I settled on this set. In general, LG TVs gets good reviews at good price points and the 7600 seemed, IMO, to be the best ratio of features/price (for example, the top of the line 9600 tends to be more poorly reviewed though, admittedly, that may be the bias from paying a premium price). Anyway buying this set was justification for finally upgrading to DirecTV HD service and their new Genie system. Have no complaints about either. Two things to be aware of regarding the connections. There's only one legacy shared composite/component input; I got an HDMI adapter for our Wii and our VCR gets the composite connection. The sound output connection is optical digital which won't be a problem for any decent sound bar but you might need a semi-pricey converter for older surround systems. As it turns out, the sound from the TV itself is pretty good considering the size of the speakers. In some lighting circumstances we have had a glare issue due to the highly reflective glass (in our case, daytime with certain curtains open). I enjoy using the magic remote - wish it was a universal to control everything! It would be nice if there was an Amazon On Demand app since we have Prime but oh well. There have been some issues with the Netflix app but apparently, from what I have read, that is a Netflix problem, not an LG problem. As others have noted, the LG apps are a weird mix of often worthless efforts though, depending on your interests, you might find one or two to check out. On a final note, the TV is VERY attractive in its design. My wife has been so happy with it that she barely oomplained about the cost. It replaced a 60" JVC DLP (which was still working great, I might add, 6 years in, with only a recent lamp switch in the past year - my bro-in-law now has the JVC). While the screen size drop from 60" to 55" is somewhat noticable, the "floating" black glass of the LG is simply much nicer to look at whether the TV is on or off.

I wish LG Smart world would be updated with Amazon Instant Video, HBO Go and Pandora apps. I heard it will be at some point. Also wish embedded videos viewed in the web browser could be expanded to full screen, currently they can't. Other than that the TV is great. Looks and sounds good. Love the slim bezel. Like the remote.

The picture quality is great. I loved the 3D fuctionality, which uses Passive glasses, as they do not require any battery or charging. The magic remote is little difficult to use in the begining. However, once you get used to it, it really works great.

I purchased this TV after hunting for a several months. I had a 50" Samsung DLP that was nearing the end of its lifecycle and needed a replacement that would fit in a 50" wall entertainment center. I also wanted one with passive 3D. So after reading God-knows how many reviews (both professional and consumer) I decided to go with the 55LM7600 – sight unseen. My first impressions were very positive. It is very nice looking with the "floating" stand and an almost non-existent bezel. It is also very thin, but that wasn't a big concern for me as it is in an entertainment center. Plenty of hook-up connections and there are some trick cable guides built into the stand so that you don't see cables hanging down in back – nice touch. The magic remote is pretty cool and seemed easy enough to use while setting up the TV, but I use a Harmony One remote most of the time and the DirecTV remote the rest. At this point we have not tried any of the apps or the 3D so I can't be any help there. But from what I've read, we won't be disappointed. The picture is phenomenal – once the picture settings are calibrated correctly. Like pretty much every TV out there, the default picture settings are pretty hot out of the box. But once set properly, the picture is stunning. I used the calibration setting from LCDTV Buying Guide website, but there are plenty versions out there. It took about 10 minutes and was well worth the time. [http://reviews.lcdtvbuyingguide.com/lg-lcd-tv/lg-lm7600-calibration-settings.html] I almost always watch an HD source/channel, but have notice the SD looks decent too. And blu-ray is better than anything I've seen! Our room is set up with windows and lights in front of the TV (beside our couch) so I was concerned about the glare-factor. The screen surface does reflect a little bit, but it is not that bad unless you're watching something dark. In that case, I just cut the lights off. Other reviewers have complained about light-bleed around the edges, but I do not find it to be a problem at all. In fact the only time I ever see it is when turning it on. One thing to note for logistic purposes is the screen sits back about five inches from the front edge, so if you are putting it in an entertainment unit like I did the screen will not be flush with the front edge. But that will be true with any TV now. So in a nutshell, the TV is beautiful to look at and the picture is amazing. I would definitely buy another one and recommend to a friend.

Love the TV. Very thin, picture quality is great, remote control is very smart. The only thing, it freezes on Smart TV modes sometimes and need to turn the TV off and On again. Hopefully that won't be a frequent thing as the TV gets older. Some glare also, but that can be eliminated with curtains or shades.

My husband and myself love our new TV, it is so much nicer to watch tv on a 55"in. instead of a 32"in. The picture is really clear and the sound is great. We also like the fact that it isn't a 150 lb. tv like our old one was. It was very easy to install. I really appreciated the time the gentleman at Abe's spent explaining the TV and he answered all my questions (which were many) honestly. We are very satisfied with the tv and the service we received from Abe's.

This is my primary TV. I watch everything from network TV to all my movies. I'm enjoying the 3D. The passive glasses are great. I am able to wear them over my existing glasses. The picture is beautiful. My brothers are movie historians with a critical eye and they are impressed with the TV---now that's saying something.

Comments:

I wanted to buy TV from Samsung or Sony. However, after visiting the [@]store, I made my mind on purchasing LG 55LM7600. This is the most amazing TV I have ever experienced! Stunning picture quality and passive 3D features made the TV one of the best of its kind. However, I have experienced little issue while the TV connects with the PC PLEX media server for the first time, it freezes while synchronizing. It might be due to slow processor of the system, it may also depend on how big size of media you have. Apart from that issue, I am truly happy with this TV.
