I have owned this coffee maker for about a month and it has lived up to the good reviews that I saw online. I have not had any problems with it operating or breaking as some of the reviews indicated--that remains to be seen. I am very happy with this maker.

This is by far the best grind and brew coffee maker I have ever owned, and believe me, I have tried them all. For years we were in love with the Capresso grind and brew coffee maker. So much so that I purchased an extra one in case my original one went out. Then we went to the Cusinart grind and brew which I only kept for a few months. Way too much cleaning of the coffee grinding channel each week. Would totally clog up if not cleaned continually. I am sure a function of the steam clogging the grinding channel. The Krups is by far the most advanced design of them all. I have NEVER cleaned the grinding channel. It works perfected each day. Plenty of settings to get the right strength. Especially easy to clean. I purchased another one since I love it so much and would be afraid to be without it. It is by far the best design and engineering.

This is a first for me. I've never given a negative review! Over the past ten months 2 of these brand new machines have quit working. The grinder works beautifully but the water just sits in the reservoir and isn't pumped through the machine. KRUPS replaced the first machine after the service center was unable to fix it (my counter was flooded with water after it was "fixed" the first time). Today the second machine quit. After sending it back twice already and waiting for 4 weeks at a time to get it back I can't recommend this machine to anyone. Too bad because the coffee really is good when the machine works properly. I've contacted KRUPS customer service and I'll be anxious to see what they tell me to do this time! I'd really like my money back. I'm tired of the inconvenience!!!

The coffee grinder is not as loud as some reviews have suggested. Our old one was far louder. Also, have not experienced the reviewers complaint of spillage when pouring from the pot. Perhaps we have a pot with the redesigned lid. lucky us. Careful study of the instructions was required to get the desired amount of beans & water for the desired product. We are very happy with the results.

I enjoyed the Krups KM700 for about 3 weeks before it stopped working. Then the problems began. I called the authorized repair center in New Jersey and sent it to them. After about 3 weeks I called them up to see when I could expect the unit back. They hadn't even looked at it yet. I finally got the unit back after 6 weeks and it proved to be defective. I got most of those issues worked out but the major drawback to this unit is when you go to pour coffee. You'd better go really slow or it will pour more on your shoes or the counter than in a cup. Luckily when the sent me the replacement it came with a new carafe and I did some modification on the old carafe that fixes the pouring problem. I took a dremel tool and cut straight back from the angles on both sides of the opening to where the beveled edge meets the main part of the lid. I then came across, following the contour, from side to side. When the pour opening was enlarged the pouring problem disappeared. This is something that should have been addressed long ago as it's a constant complaint with this pot.[...]the Krups repair facility left a lot to be desired. If I ever have to sent this one back, it won't go to the New Jersey facility.

I was so disappointed that our old grind and brew wasn't available on the market that I didn't think any other would please me. The grinder was startling at first but has become part of our 'morning sounds'. My husband especially likes the bean hopper which holds enough for 3days worth. I like the setting for small brew amounts.

This is a great grinder/brewer! It is quiet (we had to leave the room when our other grinder/brewer was grinding because it was so loud), easy to use, VERY easy to clean compared with other grinder/brewers, looks elegant on the counter, and has many settings for customizing. We had to experiment a bit to find the right settings for strength and grind, but that was not too difficult. The biggest flaw is that it does not keep the coffee very hot. Our old grinder brewer had a setting to make the hotplate hotter, and you could extend the "on" time to 3 hours. I realize this affects the taste of the coffee, but my husband gets up much later than I do and he uses milk in his coffee so he doesn't care if it's old coffee. We've come up with a solution and I make 4 cups when I get up and when I'm finished I set up the coffee maker to make 4 cups for him and he can just push the button when he comes down to the kitchen. Another flaw is that when you pour from the carafe it pees if you don't poor at just the right rate. I don't think I've ever used a Krups coffee maker that did not do this. Even with the flaws I am quite satisfied with my purchase, and of course I got the best price at Abe's.

This coffee maker is quiet, fast, easy to use and clean. Its bad points are not horrible just bad enough to keep it from being 1st class, number one is the mess you make pourning coffee if you are not really careful, number 2 the grinder spreads a few grounds onto the counter and the maker could be a little larger as far as the pot is concerned. However, it makes good coffee, has lots of adjustments and it is easy to clean. The part I like best is the seperate grinder and brewer.

The comments about the coffee pot are valid, just can't seem to pour anything out of the pot without making a mess. I push down on the lid to make it flip up and this helps. Bad design on the pour spout of the pot...

I read previous pros & cons and decided to buy this unit. I'm not disappointed whatsoever. It's important to thoroughly read the instructions prior to using the coffee maker the first time. It took me 3 days to determine the appropriate settings for grind and brew strength. It's a much better unit than the Cuisinart Grind & Brew it replaced. It's at least 50% quieter and very easy to clean. One must be patient when pouring. Krupps could have designed a better lip on the carafe to prevent dripping when pouring.

Best part is the grinder is wholly isolated from the water dispenser - therefore no water gets into the grinder - therefore the grinder does not clog - great looking and well thought out design!

When our 2nd grind-and-brew of the other brand died we were fed up w/ their quality but addicted to the taste and convenience of an automatic grind-and-brew coffee maker so after some research we tried this. It makes great coffee -- I'd say better than the other brand -- and is somewhat easier to set up and clean. But it is not w/out its flaws. The spout on the carafe is AWFUL -- I spill coffee or water virtually every time I use it. This is a very annoying problem every time you make or pour coffee, and would seem to be something easily corrected by the manufacturer. The machine fits on my counter OK but I have to pull it out to fill the bean and water dispensers. This would not be a big deal except the coffee maker has no-skid feet on the bottom making it very difficult to slide. Picking it up to move it back when it is full of water has proven very messy. However, problem was solved by removing the no-skid feet. Parts of this machine are plastic and feel flimsy. I have concerns about how well they will hold up with daily use. Finally, the filter and basket (that will eventually hold the ground coffee) stay open from the time you set up the machine until the grinding is completed (for me that means overnight). This seems to me to be a cleanliness concern, especially for those of us with lots of pets (and pet hair) in the house. All that said, if it proves reliable I'll be very happy with this purchase. Great coffee, quieter than the other brand, and easier to use and clean.
