My mom gave me HER old krups coffee grinder 20+ years ago when I went away to college (yes, just like this one). I FINALLY overused it one day and burned out the motor. I buy whole coffee beans because I am addicted to the smell and freshness, so I had to replace it FAST. My husband brought a fancier one home from WMART. It clogged. He exchanged it for another (even more expensive). It was horrible. I got online and was thrilled to find the exact one I was so accustomed to. This little grinder is no-muss no-fuss. Grinds effectively everytime. Is a bit loud, but oh well. Only drawback would be that you have to sometimes knock the remnants out of the hopper--but that doesn't bug me either after seeing how the fancier models spray grinds all over and get clogged.
