This is a heavy duty item that won't need to be replaced quickly. I have had to replace many mixers over the years after they conked out on me. I am confident that this will be my last purchase.

I LOVE this mixer! KitchenAid is a trusted name brand and being an avid fan of the Foodnetwork, I see that professionals think so too! I've waited several years because of the expense; I'm so glad I relented! The Artisan is powerful, mixes well and is easy to use. I find the pouring shield a bit cumbersome, and pouring without it is kind of tricky too, but I'll get better at it.

I love this mixer! It is quiet and can handle a large capacity of ingredients. Mixes very evenly. The only downside is its size. It is heavy - about 25 lbs.- and it would be stored best on the counter or another easy-to-reach place.
