Heavy duty coffee grinder should last for many years (in KitchenAid tradition). Produces consistent particle size, doesn't heat the coffee in the process, and is not so loud that it grinds your nerves in the process.

This grinder works perfectly. I am glad that I read earlier reviews warning me about the brittle glass used for the bottom hopper. It is definitely fragile. My only real complaint is that some dis-assembly and adjustment is required if you want to use both French Press and Espresso grinds. The grinder cannot accommodate both without the use of tools.

I have spent years looking for a good coffee grinder that did not make coffee "flour" for my French press. I bought three cheap grinders over the years, naively believing their claims for "consistent grind." Eventually I bought this moderately priced Kitchenaid and am delighted. The overall flavor of the cup is definitely enhanced. Don't hesitate to spend the money on this appliance. It works well and should last forever! I am rating this five stars but the website will only allow me to enter four stars for some reason.

I purchased this item after deciding to replace an old and no longer available Braun burr grinder, even though the Braun still works. After doing a bit of research, I chose the KitchenAid for the low price (relative to other higher end units), the various online reviews that I read, the KitchenAid reputation, and frankly, I like the way it looks.Overall, I'm happy with my choice. The unit I purchased was defective with the burrs grinding each other rather than grinding the beans.[...]The replacement is working correctly. It has a nice slow motor with no heat buildup, is dramatically quieter than my old Braun, and equally consistent in providing a uniform grind. The hopper and collector are larger than I'll ever need or use. Being glass, the collector is easy to empty into my Chemex filter because there's no static electricity to contend with. Be careful about the glass collector, however! Being used to a plastic one, I broke the new glass one washing it in the sink. When I ordered a replacement from KitchenAid, I ordered two. I wish they made them of heavier, stronger glass. The unit comes apart easily and seems easy to clean and maintain. So far, I'm happy with this new grinder. Good choice.

This coffee grinder is absolute luxury. Quality craftsmanship. Quiet grind. Always does a nice job grinding. Very heavy but that's only a problem if you lump it around like I do. I don't have enough counter space to keep on counter. This is a really awesome machine. My one and only gripe is that the glass carafe (used to catch the grinds) is really cheap and easily breakable. I owned this for a few weeks only and my husband managed to drop the carafe and it broke in a million pieces. So that really stinks. Now we just have to hold a dish or something else under the machine while we use it to catch grounds. Just wish the glass container were stronger or that I married a guy who wasn't a doofus! Either way, I love this coffee grinder! Worth every penny!

This grinder is fantastic for the serious coffee drinker who wants a quality grinder, but doesn't want to invest in a $350+ gadget. Although it is not a fancy Italian brand, this KitchenAid grinder is well-made with cast steel parts and has a glass receptacle. The glass receptacle greatly reduces static electricity build-up which reduces the spread of coffee grinds all over the counter. In addition the powerful, yet low-speed motor reduces static AND reduces heat build-up during the grind.

I purchased this for my husband for Christmas. I was a little nervous about spending so much for it, and was concerned when I saw how big it actually was. However, it fit perfectly under my counter and my husband loves it. I actually think he's drinking more coffee - he was already a pot-a-day drinker! His only complaint is that the when the special cap for the carafe is on (after brewing), the carafe does not fit back onto the unit.

This is a very solid grinder. Will hold about a half pound of beans in the hopper. Very consistent grind. Really easy to use. It is a bit expensive, but once you use it you will understand why. Quality costs.

Reasonably quiet and efficient. Take care not to put the coffee grinder directly on a countertop or table, because the bolts on the bottom will scratch the surface.

We use the grinder everyday so that we have fresh coffee and a good cup of coffee. It works great and it's quiet too and easy to use. All you do is set the grinding you want and turn it on. I would recommend this who drinks coffee everyday.

This is a well thought out unit. Heavy, Glass on top and bottom eliminates static cling. I am very pleased how quiet and fast it works. The settings are right on for auto drip and Expresso settings. A must have if you are a lifetime coffee consumer!!!
