GEs PP989DNBB 30" Smoothtop Electric Cooktop features Downdraft exhaust, Frameless ceramic glass cooktop, Ribbon Heating Elements, Bridge Element and more!
This is a great looking cooktop, easy to use and good results. We replaced an older Whirlpool model and there were very few 30" downdraft cooktops available on the market. This was clearly the best value we saw. We like the features and the styling. There are two downsides. Every little spot shows up so you have to clean thoroughly after every use.....even if just boiling water. And the power boil is great for boiling water but not so good for cooking.....so you have to use the bridge element for larger pans.

This a a nice replacement surface unit with a downdraft feature. Very quick to heat, but the downdraft takes up a lot of space otherwise used for kitchen storage.

Burners heat very quickly for a ceramic cooktop, much faster than the modular unit it replaced. Combination burners add versatility. Unit was easy to install with the exception of connecting the downdraft to existing vents (but I expected this). Has a control lockout feature to prevent accidental activation and to protect children. It has hot surface indicators, but only one per side. I would prefer one for each burner, but this is a minor issue. If you have a cooktop with no overhead ventilation, I highly recommend this unit.
