I bought this cooktop to replace a nearly identical GE Profile glass ceramic cooktop we've enjoyed for about 10 years. The old one broke after a heavy pot must have been dropped on it. We chose this one in order to avoid having to enlarge the existing cut out and because we had been happy with its predecessor. I keep a razor blade handy to scrape up spills and use a ceramic cooktop lotion and Mr. Clean Magic erasers with good results. I would prefer a gas cooktop, but we don't have gas to our house. I have been very pleased that this cooktop responds quickly to changes in the heat setting.
