I have finally gotten to the point where an induction cook top is affordable enough for me to purchase. It is so cool! Really, no hot coils,easy to clean, runs on much less power (80%) than and electric and much more controllable than gas. I can on it with out being there to watch temperature controls all the time. Since it uses so much less electricity I can simmer for long periods of time. Kitchen doe's not heat up. Only things that might be a problem for some are: (1) Timer only goes to 99 minutes. (2) Will only work on ferrous metal cookware, i.e. cast iron and good stainless steel. If a refrigerator magnet sticks to the bottom of the cookware, you can use it on this. Love, it!!
