We entertain, and we needed a second oven without remodeling the kitchen. We researched ranges for weeks, and we chose this make and model based upon its design, features, and reputation of the company. We like the clean, sturdy look, and we think it will not show its age as the years pass. Everything looks and feels like a commercial machine. We especially like the large 5.4 cubic foot main oven, the deeply recessed stainless steel cook top and the heavy, cast grates that form a continuous flat surface over the burners. The control knobs are also larger and heavier on this model. The PGB980SETSS is the only model among several very similar ranges in the Profile line to offer all of these features. The electronic oven controls are intuitive and easy to use, even without reading the instructions. Within two days, we were using most features of the range with ease. Oven temperatures are accurate within one degree, and with the convection feature turned on, the oven automatically adjusts the cooking time to compensate for increased convection cooking efficiency. In sum, we are very pleased with this range.
