We already owned one of these cooktop burners and liked it so much that we ordered a second one. We enjoy the Clean design, even heat distribution, and the fact that it is easy to clean.

Perfect for an additional burner

4.0

PROS

  • Portable
  • Boils water fast
  • Easy To Clean
  • Good Heat Dissipation

CONS

  • Don't like touch controls

BEST USES

  • Extra burner
  • Entertaining

Comments:

We entertain frequently and have a 4-burner range. The portable cooktop is very useful when we need another burner. We use it mostly to cook rice and boil water for pasta. We're not fans of the touch controls, but it gets easier with use. You MUST read the directions before using to avoid burning food and to understand how to use the controls.

Fagor Induction Cooktop

4.0

PROS

  • Easy To Clean
  • Heats Quickly
  • Handle Stays Cool
  • Distributes Heat Evenly

CONS

  • Scratches Easily

BEST USES

  • Small Kitchens
  • Dorm Rooms

Comments:

We had seen induction cooktops in various Chinatowns and were intrigued by them. We purchased the fagor as it is the only portable unit widely available in the US. Within days, we were using it extensively. Boils water very quickly. We purchased an induction compatible wok and deep fried potatoes and cooked oriental food. We felt that you were able to get heat up a lot quicker, helping cook these kinds of food. The only downsides are that all your nice calphalon won't work. Most quality induction capable cookware is pricy but, hey, it lasts forever.

Fagor Portable Induction Cooktop

4.0

PROS

  • Durable
  • Heats Quickly
  • Easy To Clean
  • Distributes Heat Evenly

CONS

BEST USES

  • Small Kitchens

Comments:

I bought this cooktop for our RV. The RV is all electric and sometimes we don't have power good enough for the RV cooktop. The Fagor is good for this situation as it is 120 volt. It doesn't get as hot as I expected, but I'm sure that is due to 120 volts verses 220. I really have no complaints about it. It heats quickly, cools quickly and is small enough to store.
