We have owned a Cuisinart DLC-7 food processor for 29 years and it plain old wore out, just at the time that Cuisinart reinvented it. Other than the lid being hard to get on, it is as good as the original, if not better.

Comments:

My wife and I have used this food processor almost daily since it arrived. [...]Somebody put a lot of thought into this design and it appears to have paid off. It can handle multiple jobs without having to stop and clean out the work bowls. When our vintage 1988 DLC-7 finally expired it was a bit like losing a family friend or loyal retainer and this was the replacement. It sliced 6 lbs of onions for onion soup in seconds, choped pork & all components for homemade bulk Chorizo, cuts up fillings for fruit breads and coffee cakes, kneads yeast and quick breads dought, sliced, chopped and grated all; kinds of vegetables, etc. It does take up a lot of counter space and storage space in our rather small kitchen. We don't have room to keep it on the counter and thus get lots of exercise, i.e., weight training moving it around. However it appears durable and works very well.

We did a lot of research before deciding on this food processor. The 12 cup version didn't have as many features, and the Williams Sonoma 16 cup version was much more expensive but had the exact same features as this 14 cup. We've used it so far to make smoothies, shred blocks of cheese, and chop up potatoes. My hubby is a little obsessed with seeing it chop so fast ;). We figured if we were going to invest in a food processor, then we should invest in a good one that will last for years. This is a great product

I have only owned my new Cuisinart for two weeks, after having owned a DLC 7 for over twenty years, and I am already thrilled with it. I wish I had updated sooner. The video was helpful and very good. I use it at least twice a day and have used it so far for liquifying soups, and chopping a variety of herbs and vegetables. The liquifying is so excellent that I may retire my blender, and the chopping is so quick and efficient. I plan to use the machine for many other purposes. I love the way the blade stays put when I'm emptying the bowl, and the redesign of the lid which avoids the plastic lock of the DLC which broke twice during its lifetime. The small bowl for chopping herbs is a wonderful innovation which works superbly well. However, when fully assembled for storage the machine is too tall to place on the counter under the upper cabinets. Because I do not have room to store the lid etc. in a cabinet, it takes up twice its footprint on the counter. I also wish that the medium sized bowl could work as an additional bowl to avoid having to wash and dry the large bowl for other procedures. Nevertheless, I would buy this machine again and again with no hesitation.

Our family is a new user. So far the product has performed very well especially when processing different types and large amounts of food for party prep. I expect that the processor will be even more useful as we learn all its functions and capabilities.

I use this mostly to puree tomatoes for my spaghetti sauce. I love the fact that it will puree the tomatoes very, very fine. Its also wonderful for slicing vegetables at various thicknesses! It is heavy, though and this can be a detriment since we do not leave appliances out on the counter!

You don't need any additional items, well, other than someone to clean up after you have finished making your culinary delights. I was kidding about it doing the kids homework, but it does just about everything else. LOVE IT! And proof, yet again, You Get What You Pay For.

This food processor should last a lifetime. It is so well built and the motor will handle anything you put in it. For such a large motor it is very quiet, an added bonus!

I owned the original Cuisinart fp for 30 or 40 years and loved it but always wished I had purchased the larger one. This one is perfect because it has 3 bowl sizes, larger feeding tube, more safety features, better locking mechanism, retractable cord,is easier to handle. All my complaints about the original have been rectified.

This is easy to use and the different size bowls are great. My only complaint is that food sometimes get stuck in the lid and it can be hard to clean but otherwise, the rest is easy to work and clean. The storage box with blades is wonderful to have.
