- I have this coffee maker make coffee so its ready to go every morning - I use this coffee maker to impress my friends and have coffee gatherings - I use this coffee maker to relax when I get home from a hard day at work - I use this coffee to make delicious coffee to enhance my hour plus drive to work___________________________Cuisinart DGB-900BC coffee Grind and brew machineThings I consider when I review a product:- I am warranty conscious- I am an avid comparison shopper- I realize there is a psychology to using products, a product needs to fitinto your life, and make it better. I look in products how the product doesthis, and consider that in my review.- The parts used to make a product and how durable they are is important- I am a designer and look for good design in products- I believe we all learn more in sharing what we learn as we shop- I realize that how you use a product to share with your friends is important- My focus when I purchase anything is price compared to performance- Realize the most expensive is not always the best.- Have learned good products are made to last.I recently purchased the Cuisinart DGB-900 BC coffee machine. The controls are well made, you can tell the parts of this are precision madelike a Swiss watch made to work well, be precise and last a long time. Iactually have had older Cuisinart coffee makers. They have over time improvedthe ability to clean, the size of the on board storage for the coffee beansadded, the quality of the controls and the mechanism that holds the groundcoffee. All of these are better on this machine, also they added a side waterview that was lacking in earlier models so you can see your water level beforeyou start the grind and brew process.I read the negative reviews and the positive but in the end I make my owndecision. I like this coffee maker for the following reasons:Pros- Attractive stainless steel design- Stainless steel durable buttons on front for coffee feature control- Well design durable construction- Has an 8 ounce coffee bean holder, that is more then double the capacity ofcompetitive models- Is designed to be easy to use and clean- New models have a 3 year warranty, refurbished is 30 to 90 days- Thermos can be taken to the living room and coffee served multiple timesthere.- Has many nice features over older models like 12 cups max amount over 10- Utilizes a burr grinder that other coffee makers do not have.- Has an easy to read water level on the side that is easy to read even onsmall cups.- Thermos is designed to keep coffee hot for long periods of time.- Has an auto time that will make coffee when you wake for you- Comes with a video to help you get up and running fast- Has a water filer to filter out bad water taste- Insulated Thermos keeps coffee hot a long time- Is no noiser when making coffee then other coffee makersCons- Coffee temperature is not as hot as other competitive brands, however to meseems hot enough. - No inside water level like the older models had so…

recently the machine cannot transition from "grind mode" to "brew mode". The gears just continue to click and churn until you intervene. opening and closing the filter basket a few times seems to do the trick.

We love this coffee maker! It is easy to use & make a great tasting cup of coffee. The only 'con' is that the metal craft gets cold quickly, so you must adjust the settings to make the machine stay on longer & not automatically shut off after brewing.

I like the fact that I can load beans in the hopper on top for several pots of coffee. I don't want to measure beans each morning. One thing you do need to remember is to take off the hopper and clean the canal for ground coffee about every 30 brews. It does get clogged. I'm sure my humid Florida climate makes it worse. Otherwise, it is is a worry free product.

Aside from requiring a brief cleanout of fine grounds once a week or so, it's virtually carefree. It's easy to clean, easy to fill (both water and beans), and makes great coffee! I love it!

Had the old style DGB-600BC which lasted about 5 years with everyday use. It eventually began to leak. It made great fresh grind/brew coffee by timer. I almost purchased the same model again but after checking the what's available these days I got the DGB-900BC. This one cleans better, and unlike the old model, the grinder section no longer gets wet, so you don't have to clean the grinder section after each use. After brewing about 20 pots, the grinder was only lightly dusted with dry grinds, and basically clean. Also, the coffee aroma seems to be a bit stronger during the grinding and brewing process. I might guess the bur grinder releases more aromatics then the old style's blade grinder.

My husband and I just love our Grind and Brew. We have a small kitchen with little counter space. The Grind and Brew does not take up a lot of space and we do not have to have a separate grinder for our coffee beans. Every pot of coffee is excellent and the thermal coffee pot keeps the coffee hot at least three hours, it could be longer we just have not tested it yet. We would recommend the Grind and Brew to everyone.

Very user friendly directions. Only needed one try to achieve a 'great' cup of coffee. I don't miss the two step procedure from a separate grinder to the pot ... life is definitely better! I am fairly new to using beans .. used store bought ground coffee for many, many years ... now, I know what I've been missing. Retired and have also found the perfect cup of coffee... sweet!

This is the best coffee maker ever! Great coffee(I never thought a coffeemaker could make coffee strong enough for me)with a great brew every time.I would not recommend this to people who live in a loft or studio apt because it can get kind of noisy but for me it is perfect

Huge improvement over the old model. The grinder is quieter, grinds to better consistency/efficiency, easier to clean and you don't have to fill the beans every day. Plus the water indication level is on the outside of the unit. Love, Love, Love it.

It works like advertised. Setting up the night before is a breeze. Was nervous about other reviews complaining about cleaning time. But not much different from using a Bunn where we ground the coffee. Also think some reviewers were using an older model. Seems like it uses a lot of beans, but found setting it for "mild" uses about the same as we used before and the taste is good. When someone wants it stronger, the capability is there. We've used all the settings. We use it daily and cleaning once a week appears to be enough. Had it about a month and no problem so far with moisture clogging things up. And the "brain" that keeps it from working if you haven't cleaned out the filter is a good idea. Too bad it doesn't tell you if you forgot to totally empty the pot. Love having coffee in the morning. Grinding is pretty loud, but hasn't disturbed us sleeping in the next room.

We have had this coffee maker for nearly a month. We use it daily, if not twice daily. It took a little getting used to, making sure we had the machine programmed correctly and waking up to the noise in the morning. However, we are pleased. The grind is consistent, the coffee is piping hot, and so far, every pot tastes great. We are definitely impressed with how warm the coffee stays, even hours after brewing. I would recommend this coffee pot.

I use this product only on the days that I am off work. It is more complicated to set up than previous versions of this product. That is due to the new strength selection feature. It's not too difficult, just more than my previous grind and brew. The grind is quieter which is good. I like the large hopper that holds several days of beans. It also seems to be much easier to keep clean compared to the previous version. It is a great product and I would buy it again.

I search for a replacement to my Cuisinart Grind & Brew Thermal DGB-600BC and the DGB900BC was the best choice out there. The new grinding design is much more practical as the previous model. This model also allows you to choose the strength of your cup of coffe. The only negative thing I can think of is the opening to pour the water in. It is kind of narrow and I learn that if you miss it, the water would drip into the grinder.

Comments:

I use this cofee maker everyday, with fresh, whole beans. Brewing time is reasonable and the carafe keeps the brew nice and hot. But I have some quibbles: (1) It does not make a good strong cup of coffee, as I like it, without fooling it. I set it on "strong" at 12 cups worth of grinding, and I only put enough water in for six cups. This works well. (2), it's more complex to perform daily cleaning than it needs to be, and (3), you have to turn the carafe darn near upside down to poor, and it poors very slowly. I find myself just taking the lid off a lot of the time. You simply cannot use the carafe to fill the machine with water. I use a small pitcher. I am aware of nothing else like it on the market for the price, so I am mostly happy with it and would recommend it to others.
