After reading numerous mixed reviews I was hesitant to purchase this coffee grinder brewer for the price tag. I have to say, cleaning is easy, design is elegant, features are perfect, operation is a breeze and most importantly the coffee never tasted so good! Is as if the makers finally got the equation of coffee to water ratio correct. What separated this grinder form the others in the market is that this machine actually has a coffee grinder and not a propeller. I would recommend this to friends and family.

I had the previous version of the Grind and brew and liked it but the blade grinder was difficult to remove and you had to clean the entire machine before using it. The new model, with the burr grinder and 1/2 pound hopper, is much better. Also, the 12 cup carrafe is much better than the 10.

This makes great coffee! The brew strength control works well. It's convenient that you can choose to grind fresh or to use ground coffee and bypass the grinder. I like to how the carafe keeps the coffee warm instead of letting it sit on a burner. However, we typically have to microwave the second cup but this is much better than the burnt taste from sitting on a burner. The only down side to this machine is that you have to keep the little chute from the grinder into the basket clear. It's a bit of a hassle but it only needs to be done a few times a month. I was leery of buying refurbished but we've been using this daily for about 4 months and have had no problems. Very happy with it!

I bought this for the office and we are all impressed by how good the coffee is. (Sadly, it is too tall for my home - it won't fit beneath the cabinets.) The built-in burr grinder and 12-cup thermos carafe are critical to this, but it's also due to the strength of the brew. Terrific coffee. I did feel silly watching the instructional DVD. It is a pain to clean the grinder chute every 2 or 3 pots, but that's a small price to pay. I will buy another when this one dies.

After using this product 3-4 times, the part that holds the grounds after they are ground would not stay closed. This did not seem to be a problem with it being refurbished. It seemed like a design problem.

absolutely the best coffee maker you will find at any price. the burr grinder is a little loud if others are sleeping, but not bad. quality construction throughout. the thermal carafe is a must. the coffee stays hot for hours and never gets burnt. two thumbs wayyyy up. also, the reconditioned unit arrived as new.

we replaced our old coffee maker with this one. We love this machine it works well and is not noisy. The only downfall is that it does not come with a reusable filter. Do not buy this coffee maker with the clear pot. This pot is insulated and keeps coffee hot for a long time. We have really loved this coffee maker and are very happy with our purchase.

Nowhere does it say that there is no gold tone filter included, you will discover that fact when the box arrives. I ordered a "brand new" machine and recieved a "factory reconditioned" item, which comes with a greatly reduced warranty, and "no gold tone filter included". But this machine makes the best coffee ever!

Remarkably easy to program time and schedule. Here you get 2 reviews for the price of one here. My neighbor has had one for about 2 years and is still impressed with it. The insulated 12 cup carafe was why I purchased it. Everything else was a bonus that I've come to enjoy using.

First reconditioned item I ever bought from Abe's of Maine. All new items were well priced and worked great. Can't say the same about this reconditioned item. It was supposed to have been factory reconditioned. If so, someone was asleep at the wheel. The door which houses the grounds filer will not stay closed. As a result the pot will not function. So, I get to spend my time, money, and phone calls to Cuisinart to get this defective coffeemaker repaired or replaced. So, you get what you pay for. Go for a new one. To heck with the reconditioned model.

I had some issues with the grinder not working just a few days into my purchase. But I sat down with the DVD that was included to learn about the product and was able to find out the proper way to clean and maintain the unit. As soon as I did that, the problem was fixed and has been great ever since!

1st one did not work right at all. 2nd one worked the first time but grind motor did not work after that. 3rd one seems fine as long as the grind chute is cleared every time. [...] Cuisinart were very helpful. Makes good coffee at the touch of one button. Shuts off after brewing. Coffee kept hot enough until I transfer to glass thermos. Would recommend only if friend accepted drawbacks.
