Wanted a compact camcorder to throw in my purse on family outings. I have used Canon camcorders for 16 years and love their "cinema" frame rate, low light shots and ease of use. I like that this one shoots in AVCHD which I can archive on my Mac. I always buy a large capacity battery right from the start and this time also bought a separate charger. No matter what other features are on the camcorder, they won't work if your battery is dead! At a recent family gathering I shot scenes for 3 days without having to recharge!
