This is an awesome camcorder in terms of quality. I've filmed one major event on a stage, and it did an amazing job. I won't tell you everything that's awesome about it because there are tons of reviewers out there who can do that for you (and they have if you look for them). However, I will say that a 10X zoom isn't the best for filming events on a stage. However, the camera allows you to add additional lenses to it to extend the zoom if you need it. Another consideration is using tripod or a hand-held stabilization system. When at such a high zoom level, even the slightest bump or nudge can throw your camera off subject.

Can't believe how well the image stabilization works. I took pictures of a moving object and I was also moving and the video was just superb! Simple to use using automatic setting.
