Worlds Smallest Image Stabilizer Compact 8x Binoculars Extremely compact and lightweight, the 8x25 IS introduces a new kind of Image Stabilization to the most popular size of binoculars.
I have owned the Canon 10x30 IS binoculars for a few years now, and love them. Because I wanted a smaller and lighter IS binocular, I bought the 8x25 IS Canon. I found that the IS mechanism is different in the 8x25. In the 10x30 (and higher powers) it is a "Vari-angle prism." This locks the image in solidly, and helps one see clearly. In the 8x25, it has a "Tilt System", and when I engage the IS, the image "drifts" for a split second before settling down and working well. I am satisfied with the 8x25 because it is lighter for long hikes. But, I would recommend to anyone that they get the 10x30 instead.
