The compact and affordable EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS offers powerful telephoto performance. Its 4-stop Image Stabilizer with automatic panning detection effectively suppresses blur in low light.
Nice lens and focal distance. Size light enough to carry on camera all day. Long distant focus can be an issue in auto mode. Manual focus helps in that case. Great compliment to the standard lens that comes with most cannon EOS cameras.

This was my first additional purchase to my camera body and I love it. It has increased my skills immediately, partly because I am so enthusiastic about it that I have been practicing and practicing. In my opinion, it was the absolute perfect first lens purchase for me. I can do all of the things I want to do - macro shots, long nature shots and candids due to the telephoto. As a wedding florist and a landscape designer, I need to document my work on a regular basis - this lens will take me far.

Loved using the lens at Phillies games and on a hike through the bird sanctuary in Cape May. Still getting the hang of it relative to lighting but I have some great shots.

This was a gift for my girlfriend, who has a T2i. She likes the lens, it seems to take nice pictures, especially for the price. It is fairly light, and she doesn't seemed bothered by carrying it along with her other lens when she goes out. She hasn't complained about the focusing speed, but I have noticed a couple of out of focus shots, which she rarely creates with the shorter lens she owns. Overall, she is happy with it.

this was my first telephoto lens, and i have used it often for when my kit lens just doesn't give me that reach. i have also combined it with a macro filter for some amazing results. the only thing i have started worrying about is that when IS is on, there is this whirring sound that i do not know is normal. it was silent before, and just started this noise a couple weeks in. hope it's not a long term issue...

The first time I used this lens was at a NASCAR race. I was surprised and extremely satisfied with the clear action pictures I was able to shoot. It is also very easy to use.
