I love this extender. Its a bit expensive, probably Canon Extender EF 2X II is most logical to get. I did not own previous extender so I cannot compare them. This is my first extender, works like a charm, love it. You need fast lens to begin with, as this will add two extra F stops to your lens, so if you have Canon 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM for example, this extender will make it 140-400mm f/5.6. But for me its just good enough... So if price is not a factor, its something certainly to consider.
