I thought 46dB would be virtually silent but that's not the case. You don't really notice it running during conversations or general working in the kitchen. Not silent, but super quiet. The one thing I noticed it will not clean: eggs, scrabbled and stuck on?, you will need to hand wash. Was well packed. I kept some of the packing material since it was so robust, might come in handy. Installation was a breeze, just needed a longer PEX pipe and new crimps (I didn't own a crimper either). I took the inlet water adapter off my old dishwasher. The bottom cover was a PITA to install though. If I remember corectly, they used a pointed screw that made it difficult to feed the screw into the sunked hole. Point would just catch the plastic.
