Great buying experience with Abe's of Maine! I would not hesitate to purchase from them again. The Avanti product however, has presented some significant challenges. While the unit is functioning after one year, there are some technical issues and the customer service at Avanti has been unable to provide even basic answers to questions posed. We store only red wines in the chiller, approximately 150 bottles and we have the setting at a warmer temperature of 65 degrees. When power is lost to the chiller and again restored, the chiller will turn on and automatically go to the "white wine" setting and the coolest temperature possible. This is damaging to the red wine. If you happen to be on vacation, your wines could be sent on a deep chill until you get back and notice this anomoly. After contacting Avanti multiple times, they are unable to determine if this is a proper operation or not. The "technical assistant" agents anwering the calls are reading the owners manual (which I've done many times) and depending on which agent you speak to, results in a different solution. We've now purchased an expensive UPS system (one solution) for the chiller to try and maintain constant power but any lengthy power outage, when the UPS no longer can provide power, will result in the chiller resetting to the coldest temperature possible. I would not recommend this product based on this unfortunate temperature reset. I would recommend a different vendor where the chiller will return to the temperature it was previously set for. Again, purchasing a product from Abe's of Maine has been a positive experience but choose another chiller instead of Avanti.
